  1. Question, at the end of the video you commented and elaborated on Quinoa and mentioned Chia seed but did not get too much into it, can you elaborate about chia seed, it if its good bad or just ok?

  2. One more question, is there a link to the Exercise portion of this topic?  It was mentioned that there would be another session a week later to discuss the work out.

  3. what is the research that shows 16:8 IF will get the same benefits as 5:2 IF? Specifically getting your IGF1 rates down? Thanks great video. I am on day 4 of doing the 16:8 IF and feel pretty good so far.

  4. The power of marketing: Company telling us breakfast is most important to eat the overly production of carbs (cereals and al kinds of processed junk)

  5. great video, as usually on John Bergman channel!

  6. @John Bergman, I work 1230 pm – 9 pm (Monday – Friday) when would it be a good time for me to start my fast and workout?? Thank you

  8. Thanks for this great video. I have pcos and this makes things much more simple for a lifestyle change. Still part time nursing but I'm ready!

  9. Well done! Thank you for your thorough explanation on the "whys' of this fasting! Keep up your great work! :)

  10. Awesome and informative

  11. I am on day 10 of 16:8 IF. I feel really great! The only downs side so far is I have been getting moments of heartburn, mostly during fasting times. Some IF forms say this is normal and it will pass. What is causing the heartburn? Before IF it has been over 3 years since i had heartburn I completely changed my diet and healed my gut so this is directly connected with IF. Thank you

  12. I pretty much do that every day. I get off work at 6 a.m. and then go for a walk. I may or may not eat breakfast. And, Lord willing, if I sleep during the day, I don't eat until dinner. Never started coffee and can't even stand the smell of it.

  13. Could you explain ketones? My mom was diabetic and, when I was in high school in the 1980s, she tested with urine strips. When I was in college, I remember her moving onto a glucometer. But, on the urine strips, they turned a certain color and she'd hold it up to the bottle to compare. There was some danger zone where you were spilling "ketones." So, I thought it was a bad thing. You make it sound like a positive thing.

  14. Definitely not a diet, but it is a diet schedule

  15. If the main focus of my exercise program is muscle gain, prioritizing this over fat loss at this stage, is intermittent fasting still advisable? seems like having proteins/sugars in your bloodstream during exercise and during sleep would aid muscle repair and growth? or can training in a state of ketosis and being in a fasting state actually be more effective due to spikes in growth hormone etc? Any advice appreciated :).

  16. Hi, can I use stevia for my black coffee during IF? And should I lessen my training if my job includes physical activity like heavy lifting? I want to build muscle and burn fats to have a six pack. Thanks in adavance

This is great stuff! I have actually been researching a lot of work by Dr. Aris LaTham, and he recommends a similar fasting regiment. He recommends only having fresh juices or waters until noon to assist the body in removing waste that has broken down during your night 'fast', so it sounds like lunch being the first 'meal' of the day really is the way to go :)

  18. Dr, I'm thinking about doing IF, however my work schedule is from 6 am to 5:30 pm, then I exercise. Meaning that when I workout I won't be fasting. Will that affect the benefits of IF? or What would you do in my position.

    Thanks

  19. if im on a 16-18hr fast how high much higher can my hgh go? i always heard over 2000% possible, but isn't that when you fast for 24 hrs?? If someone can answer this it would be very much appreciated.

  20. I've been researching IF for my healthy lifestyle website. You've done an excellent job of bringing it all together in an easy to understand manner. Thank you. Phil
