  3. Thankyou for this

  4. Question I have a physical job I'm wondering if a spinach smoothie would interrupt my fasting I know I'm not suppose to have food in take but what about smoothies

  5. Will try this now. I start with 16/8 on alternate days. I am a person living with HIV btw.

  6. I have 3 questions regarding intermittent fasting:
1- what if i only consume 100 calories upon waking up and then workout, will i still burn mostly fat from yesterdaY? Or do I have to fast for 16 hours straight?
2- what if i burn 1000 calories at the gym but i only eat 200 calories before my workout, wouldnt that be ok.. meaning i burn 800 calories of fat from the day before?
3- What if I workout in the morning (8 AM), wouldnt drinking my protein shake afterwards go against the fasting? (i drink my protein shake or any other source of protein 20 mins after every workout)

  7. Started IF 3.5 weeks ago, as a trucker it's difficult to eat 6 meals a day and especially healthy meals, I used to do it as a teen without having a word for it so diving in came extremely easy. I was 180 (5'9)and climbing, killed off the junk food and sodas, started eating and drinking right and in 3.5 weeks have gone down to 160. Great video, it works and I feel better than ever.

  8. If you want to lose weight, why not do a zero-carb diet? It has the same effect as fasting by making you use stored fat for energy.

  9. I love IF, I'm pretty lean now, 17.5 % BF, 10 pounds heavier three months ago or so. I do a varriant of the 16/8, but most of the time I just don't eat breakfast, wait 4-5 hours after I get up to eat, blunting my appetite with coffee, I try not to eat too close to bed time but, I if I need to I will, because hunger close to bed make it hard to sleep.

Your protocol does not have to be perfect, just put some effort and discipline in and go to the gym a few times a week and push yourself, and try to eat clean. I'm 34 now and have never been stronger and in better shape!

  10. natural ketosis is better for muscle savings

  11. What does 1,800 calories look like? Meal wise. How would I hit this mixing in Fats, Carbs, and Proteins?

  12. what type of accent is that?

I tried it today- was surprised how good it felt! I tend to be an all day snacker & small meal eater but like you said it makes me constantly hungry & thinking about food- plus I often naturally feel finished with eating for the day by 5 or 6 but feel obligated to eat a later dinner with my husband (when I'm not even hungry) at 7:30 or 8 because that's when he likes to have dinner. With this I can have a good excuse to stop eating earlier or maybe gradually shift my window later to coincide and shift him to eating earlier so we can meet in the middle. Going to continue for a while & see how it goes :)

    Very well presented! appreciated…

  15. How is it difficult when bulking, just eat and hit your calories youll gain

  16. Also ditch the eating windows make it flexible

  17. Intermittent fasting works! It does for me! Lost weight , felt better.

  18. First of all, excellent presentation skills! As a graduate student, I see a ton of presentations by students and professors who can't speak with fluidity and lack of "verbal hiccups" (e.g. umm, err, so, etc…), so it was nice to focus on the message and not the distracting habits of poor public speaking.
Secondly, I've been thinking about and researching the concept of IF for a few weeks. I appreciate your candid and balanced approach. Too often I see all about the benefits from its proponents and only the cons from those opposed to this nutritional lifestyle.
    Again, very informative and honest.

  19. I do IF and have for over a year and under the cons I have to disagree Big Time with the Decreased alertness, mood and performance. It actually increases alertness and mood and as far as performance I guess that can vary but it certainly hasn't for me and I do more like an 18/6 to a 19/5…find it way easier than 6 meals a day and under social, don't kill your social life, you end up with a shorter window or go outside that window just start back the next day.

  20. It increases mental alertness…
