  3. Love your videos, but a few things bothered me in this one. I know you meant well, but as someone and who is a health nut, and is also studying evolutionary biology I hate that you are perpetuating these health myths that make the natural movement look so incorrect. I wish the natural health movement and the proper use of scientific evidence could cooperate one day. haha
    -Juicing is generally more harmful because you are getting rid of the fiber that you would normally injest by eating the whole fruits and vegetables that will actually help push things through your system. All you're doing is boosting your blood sugar by getting rid of the fiber that normally makes fruit and vegetable sugars slower to digest, and combined with the amount of produce you are ingesting that is a huge load of sugar on your body, fruit sourced or not 
    -Salt baths do not detox you, you excrete out less that 1% of "toxins" through your sweat -"sweating toxins" is a myth, and the only effect you are having on your body by bathing in a hot temperature combined with salt is dehydration. 
    -Love the ACV, because it has been proven in scientific studies to help with blood sugar, and cholesterol. But the myth that foods can influence your blood pH is so wrong it isn't even funny. The only thing that can make your blood acidic is baking soda (temporarily) and chronic renal conditions, other foods only affect the pH of your urine (which has VERY little effect on your body). 
    Keep up the great videos though!

    Hi Taylor! Thanks for the feedback – I always love hearing about others experiences and think you raised some good points (so let's dig a little deeper). 

    I have found juicing to be a great way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet in addition to eating them in their raw form. Because the soil in which many of the fruits and vegetables that we eat are grown in is nutrient depleted, we are now required to eat larger quantities of food in order to obtain the proper amount of nutrition. A lot of the fiber is removed during the juicing process hence why it is recommended to juice first thing in the morning so that the sugars can pass very quickly through the bloodstream (usually in about 15 mins). If you eat a diet that is low in fat than juicing can be quite beneficial to the body. But if you do consume a high fat diet then the sugars will get trapped and blood sugar levels will stay spiked for a prolonged period of time. So how juicing effects each person's body will be slightly different.

    Pink Himalayan Salt acts very differently than just traditional salt. Through the process of dermal absorption, the skin easily soaks up the minerals from Pink Himalayan Salt. The term "detox" just means to remove unwanted impurities from the body. This can be internally (cleansing the blood or liver) or externally (cleansing the skin). I do not recommend "detoxing" the blood through using pink himalayan salt baths – but rather detoxing the skin by opening up the pores and releasing unwanted impurities. I could've been more specific about this in my video so thank you for pointing that out. 

    If you have a scientific study showing that food does not affect the pH levels in the body I would be very interested in reading it. Through personal experimentation, nutrition classes, and lots of research, it's my understanding that pH levels and blood sugar levels affect one another. And the foods we eat affect both of these. If you have any further insight, articles, or studies I would be very interested in learning more. Thanks!

  5. Yes coffee enema once a week add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup to reduce gas.  Nurses during WWI used left over coffee for enemas to aid healing of wounded GIs.   6. Thanks for  posting this video on detoxifying the body! I usually start my day each morning drinking water with a teaspoon of lemon juice more for singing preparation as I love to sing. I try to fast 3 meals a week (just vegetables or fruits-for spiritual reasons as mentioned in the Bible), but here is a drink I just tired that might be also cool… Great Detox Drinks: Cell-nique Super Green  Other ways I try to detox is taking supplements I've ordered at the health store, which I take early in the morning when I know I plan to fast a meal or a day (just fasted the other day more for spiritual reasons-praying for friends in my local church doing mission work in India). A fun 'physical way" I like is doing a cardio work-out to sweat too! I read the comments prior and I also put a teaspoon of apple-cider vinegar (on my green tea)  in my cup of drink once a week or whenever I'm "feeling" vulnerable to a cough (great remedy) or cold. I have yet to try this Himilayan salt bath, but I love doing a sauna at my friend's house at times during our cold winters during the winter season! Overall, I try to eat healthy and avoid any "junk" with "unhealthy ingredients"!

  9. Interesting. I recently bought some Himalayan pink salt for cooking. I hardly use salt in my cooking as it is so I think I will try that bath out tonight. 

    I had cancer twice as a kid and as a result of the treatment and the type of cancer I have a very weak immune system and my body cant handle toxins well, to the point of every 5-7 months my body will reject everything I eat aside from a small salad or an apple. My body essentially gives itself an enema or will cause me to vomit up anything I eat during the week to two weeks this goes down. The doctors say its my body attempting to detox its self all at once ( there is medication to fix this but they say its highly addictive and destroys your liver as well as makes internal bleeding common so I opted out) So I am hoping I can naturally detox enough in the future to avoid my two weeks of hell twice a year. 

    I probably wouldn't have this issue quite so bad if I lived with parents that actually cared what they put into their body. I am the only one that cooks in the house and getting them to buy ingredients is a pain because they love their TV dinners and frozen foods.

    I just wanted to let you know that your videos are SO helpful and inspiring to me. I am really trying to convert to a healthy lifestyle as I transition from vegetarian to vegan and pack rat to minimalist.
    All I can say, is that we are lucky to be in NY where being a vegan health nut is easy and accessible. Man how I miss the fresh air though.
